Renovation of a mixed-use development in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project scope of work shall include the electrical work described herein on both the Jr./Senior High School's and the Elementary School's HVAC System(s). The Electrical Contractor (E.C.) is responsible for the successful completion of the electrical scope of work in coordination with the Mechanical Contractor (M.C.) and the Owner. The Owner requires both a Bid Bond and a Performance Bond for this construction contract. Each bid must be accompanied by either a Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, Trust Company Treasurer's Check or Certified Check made payable to the Mohawk Area School District in an amount of not less than ten per cent of the proposal. The Bidder understands that it shall guarantee that their Bid shall not be withdrawn for a period of at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids; that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Form of Agreement and will submit the required 100% Performance and Labor and Materials Bond, and that in the event of withdrawal of said Bid within said period, or the failure to enter into said Agreement and submit said Bonds within ten days after the Bidder has received notice of the acceptance of the Bid, the Bidder shall be liable to the above mentioned Owner for the full amount of such Bond or Check. The Bid Bond or Check of all Bidders whose Bids are not accepted will be returned within ten calendar days after the scheduled bid opening date. The bid will be awarded on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the 7:00 p.m. meeting of the Board of Directors. Bids shall be calculated using both the Prevailing Minimum Wages as indicated by the PA Department of Labor and Industry (Bureau of Labor Law Compliance) and the Davis-Bacon Act, as indicated by the U.S. Department of Labor. Any questions pertaining to PA Prevailing wage rates should be addressed to the Bureau. The Wage Determinations for both are included herein, and the contractor is responsible for ensuring the higher of the two wage rates is paid to each of the applicable classifications and also for fully documenting compliance with both PA Prevailing Wage and The Davis-Bacon Act. Any and all questions regarding the bid documents must be emailed to the Engineer at carl@petrusengineering.net. Both the questions and the answers shall be shared with all bidders by email as addenda to the bid documents. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids.
