The Rust Nature Sanctuary pond dam repair work includes (1) dewatering of a small 1/2 -acre pond, (2) replacement of a 15" CMP standpipe adjacent to the dam and approximately 8' tall, (3) replacement of 10 linear feet of 12" CMP outfall pipe and miscellaneous associated work. The Project Manual includes an aerial map of the park indicating where to park and how to access the pond. Any bid exceeding Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, which may be certified check or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond made payable to the Authority. Bid Bonds shall be submitted on AIA Document A310. Such Bid Bond or check shall be submitted with the understanding that it shall guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw its bid during the period up to and including ninety (90) days following the opening of bids; that if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a formal contract with the Authority in accordance with the Form of Construction Contract included as a part of the Contract Documents, and that the referenced Performance Bond and Labor and material Payment Bond will be given; and that in the event of the withdrawal of the bid within the period, or failure to enter into the contract and give the bonds within ten (10) days after it has received notice of acceptance of its bid, the bidder shall be liable to the Authority for the difference between the amount of the bidder's bid and the amount of the bid for the next higher bidder to perform the Work but such amount shall not exceed the amount of the bid guarantee. For all contracts of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) or more, the Contractor shall deliver to the Authority or its designated representative, an AIA Document A312, Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each fully executed by one or more surety companies legally authorized to do business in Virginia and each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the original Contract Sum
