Renovation of a residential development in Dubuque, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
In general, the work consists of lead abatement and hazard mitigation work which may include general carpentry, concrete flatwork, painting, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing trades etc. Line Item Construction Bids will be received for the projects. A contractor and/or employee trained and certified as "LEAD ABATEMENT CONTRACTOR or ABATEMENT WORKER" must complete line items if part of the lead bid. Projects with construction cost greater than $25,000.00 will require abatement of the lead-based paint hazards if in certain districts, this will be specified in each bid. Notices to Proceed will be issued immediately following City Council authorization Minority and women-owned businesses and small, local, and emerging contractors are encouraged to participate. Bid guarantee in the amount of 5% of the bid amount must accompany each bid (over $25,000) submitted and shall be in the form of a cashier's check, certified check or bond. All projects at or exceeding $25,000.00 require a Payment, Performance, and one-year Maintenance Bond. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality or irregularity or to accept any bid which best serves the interest of the Owners.
