Site work for a water / sewer project in Puyallup, Washington. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Update:SR 512 Crossing at 21st Ave SW Project is included in City of Puyallup Fiscal Year 2025-2030 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://theconstructionbroadsheet.com/atkinson-wins-m-washington-highway-project-p1851-175.htm The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has awarded Guy F. Atkinson Inc. a $177.7 million contract for work on the State Route 167 Completion Project. This is the third of four contracts for the Pierce County project, which will see completion of the future six-mile, tolled State Route 167 Expressway, according to WSDOT. The department awarded the previous two contracts to Atkinson as well. The completed project, which will run between Puyallup, Washington, and the Port of Tacoma, according to WSDOT, also includes construction of sidewalks and shared-use paths for non-motorized travelers. Once finished, the highway is expected to improve the movement of freight, increase safety and reduce congestion for travelers on local roads and highways. The first phase of the project, the department said, saw construction of the Wapato Way East bridge over Interstate 5 (I-5), opened in 2021. Work under the second phase – construction of three miles of expressway, 20 new bridges, new on and off ramps, wetland and creek restoration – is underway and should be complete in 2026. This scope of work for this latest phase, which should begin next year, includes: Widening of SR 167 from SR 161 in Puyallup to SR 410 near Sumner; A new diverging diamond interchange at SR 161; Two new bridges – one over SR 161 and another over Milwaukee Avenue East; Construction of a section of the 12-mile spuyal?pabš Trail, a 12-mile regional path that will connect Puyallup to downtown Tacoma; Demolition and partial preservation of the old Puyallup River steel truss bridge; New ramp meters at the East Pioneer on-ramps to SR 512; and Construction of a portion of the embankment for the section of the expressway that will be built in the fourth and final stage of the SR 167 project. Atkinson should be complete with the third stage in 2027, WSDOT said. The fourth phase of the project, which has yet to be awarded, will take up the final 2.6 miles of the expressway, as well as multi-modal components, including trail connections; reconfiguration of local roads and intersections; construction of eight new bridges; and restoration of about 90 acres of wetlands. WSDOT said it plans to award the fourth-phase contract next summer and complete construction in 2029. The SR 167 Completion Project is part of WSDOT’s $2.6 billion Puget Sound Gateway Program, which aims to provide "critical missing links in Washington’s highway and freight network,” according to the department ________________________________________ A detailed scope of work has not been determined. The project is include in the city's 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
