Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area at 3451 Co. Rd. 256, Vickery, OH 43464, is in need of asphalt maintenance and seal coating. Areas outlined below in figure 1 are included in the project. Resthaven Wildlife Area, 412 Cement Ave. Castalia, OH 44824 has some potholes at the access road north of Resthaven Pond #8, just west of SR 269 (Prairie Road). This area needs to be ground and resurfaced per the specifications below. The scope of work is as follows: 1. Work to be performed on the entrance driveway of Resthaven Pond #8 (please Figure 2 for a general location; site will be marked prior to starting work.) 2. Remove (e.g. cut or grind) and haul away existing asphalt to a depth of 4" for a length of approximately 300 feet. 3. Compact existing road base to 100% compaction with appropriate aggregate material added as needed. 4. Place and compact 4" of 448-2 intermediate asphalt in the ground area 5. Apply asphalt concrete band around the patched area. 6. A site visit is recommended. Please call Mike Wilkerson at 419-429-8375 to set up a time The areas total approximately 26,200 square feet. The asphalt surface needs to be prepared by sweeping the surface, priming any areas with oil or gasoline residue, prior to filling cracks, repairing potholes, and applying two (2) coats of sealer. Care must be taken around any buildings or concrete pads to avoid splash over or sealer application on unwanted surfaces.
