Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Kent, Washington. Working plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project consists of the construction of a new surface water pump station and support structures at the southeast Corner of Washington Avenue South and Hawley Road in Kent, Washington. Surface features to be constructed include, the pump station, vertical turbine pumps, variable frequency drives, wetwell, gravity discharge chamber, backup power generator, the pump station control panel, shelters, paving, fencing, and landscaping. The project also includes the installation of underground facilities including stormwater conveyance piping, catch basins, and other underground structures to facilitate the construction of the new Washington Avenue Pump Station as well related sanitary sewer relocation work and pavement restoration. As part of the pump station discharge piping, the contractor will be required to excavate into and restore the Hawley Road Levee. This work will also include all related temporary dewatering, erosion control, and work zone traffic control. Due to supply chain considerations, the City has procured the pipe to be used in this project for installation by the selected contractor. The storage site and pipe will be open for viewing on February 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and February 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 12607 SE 248th Street. Kent, WA 98032. The goal will be to have a completed and fully operable surface water pump station by July 31, 2023. Should a contract be executed, it is the contractors responsibility to comply with all COVID-19 workplace health and safety measures established by the state Department of Labor & Industries or otherwise imposed by the Governor, the state Department of Health, or the Local Health Officer of Seattle-King County Public Health, or subsequent modifications to such health and safety measures as those authorities may issue, including providing all needed personal protective equipment. The Engineers estimated range for this protect is approximately $4.8 to $5.2 Million. Apprentice Utilization Requirements are mandatory for all public works estimated to cost one million dollars or more, in which case no less than 15% of the labor hours must be performed by apprentices. A cashiers check, cash or surety bond in the amount of 5% of the bid must be included with the bid. The City of Kent reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all schedules or alternates or to waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidders is the most responsive, satisfactory and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge thereof. Note: The award of the contract will not occur until the City of Kent has reviewed all bids for responsiveness and responsibility determinations and the Kent City Council has formally awarded, the contract. No plea of mistake in the bid shall be available to the bidder for the recovery of his/her deposit or as a defense to any action based upon the neglect or refusal to execute a contract. Bidders must submit with their initial bid a signed statement as to whether they have previously performed work subject to the Presidents Executive Order No bidder may withdraw his/ her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the day of bid opening. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
