Three would be installed in the three inbound lanes and the remaining two in the two outbound lanes. The drop arms will aide in reducing gate runners and will be operated by the sentry at the installation entry control point through an electronic switch or button after validation of authority to enter the installation. Buckley SFB has two installation entry points with the main entry point located at the south side of the base perpendicular to Mississippi Avenue. This gate is open 24/7, see the most amount of daily traffic, and is the most susceptible to vehicle gate runners. There have been several vehicles that have proceeded through the gate and attempted entry to the base whether on purpose or accident. The drop arms would restrict access to the base through the inbound lanes, have red and green LED lights to signify 'stop' and 'go', and opening procedures would be actuated by the entry controller at the gate by means of an electronic push button or relevant means of operation. The outbound drop arms would mostly be used to stop outbound traffic during alarm activations and other events with an intended purpose of stopping outbound vehicle traffic. The drop arms do not need to be crash rated since the vehicle barriers provide that capability and are considered a use of force The 460 SFS is looking to make a commodity purchase of the equipment identified in the ordering table, the vendor will install and make all final connections based on the manufacturers manual. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. Must be capable of opening and closing remotely with clear display of stop and go instructions. Does not need to be crash rated. Must operate on AC power and continue operation in event of power loss or provide ability to manually operate in the event of catastrophic failure. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
