Montana State University-Bozeman (MSU) is seeking an experienced partner to analyze and develop campus-wide thermal and electrical energy districts. The successful respondent to this RFQ will bring to MSU deep experience in the engineering analysis, modeling, design, cost estimation, construction, and operation of district thermal and electrical energy systems. MSU is committed to a "Reduce, Reclaim and Renewable" energy strategy. It includes reducing energy through a foundation of continued resource conservation and integrated design practices. The energy that was previously treated as waste is reclaimed wherever possible through MSU's heat pump-based district thermal energy philosophy. Building systems are transitioned from fossil to electric-based whenever feasible and renewable energy systems are integrated to enable low carbon operation. In coordination with the thermal energy districts, electrical generation and storage systems will be required in the future to complete the low carbon system operation. This includes the development and integration of largescale photovoltaic and battery storage systems.
