Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Pendleton, Oregon. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The work for this project includes, but is not limited to, site grading and excavation, construction of back wall and wing walls, installation of abutments and a new 89-foot railcar bridge, construction of gravel approaches, and removal and disposal of the old rail car bridge. This work will take place on TL 1400, which is privately owned, and adjoining the Owner's property. All work is being performed per an agreement between Owner and TL 1400 property owner City of Pendleton, hereby referred to as OWNER, will have work completed under one contract for Rail Car Bridge Replacement.Bid award, with seven (7) calendar day notice of intent declaration, will likely take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. Bid Bond/Security (5%) in form of certified or cashier's check drawn from an Oregon Bank Contractor shall furnish in writing a work schedule for the Project. This Project must be completed no later than August 31, 2022. City reserves the right to award or reject the bids that are in the best interest of the City.The Owner also reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to postpone the award of the work for a period not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days with time extensions for completion date. The Owner, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to select the bid(s) most beneficial to the City of Pendleton. All bidders must be prequalified for the class of work included in this bid document in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, and all prequalification applications must be submitted to the City by 1:00 pm. March 23, 2022, the day before the bid opening. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond for faithful performance of the contract in the full amount of the contract price Contractor shall furnish in writing a work schedule for the Project. This Project must be completed no later than August 31, 2022. Liquidated damages will be assessed at one percent (1%) per day of the total contract price for all work not yet completed each day after August 31, 2022, or $500 per calendar day, whichever is greater.
