The Board of Public Works authorized the bids for this project to be accepted only from contractors currently on the Emergency Pre-Qualified On-Call (PQOC) Geotechnical/Structural Contract Services list adopted by the Board of Public Works on February 25, 2019 and amended on March 13, 2019. This project will construct a new bulkhead to restore lateral support to the existing road. The new bulkhead will be 40 linear feet long and approximately 7 to 10 ft tall and consist of six (6) soldier piles with precast concrete lagging panels and one (1) HSS pile with timber lagging panels. A new asphalt pavement, curb (berm) and metal beam guardrail will be installed. In addition, the new bulkhead will be backfilled with soil, CMB, and a wall subdrain consisting of gravel wrapped in geofabric will be installed. PRE-QUALIFIED LIST OF CONTRACTORS: Only the following nine Contractors can bid on this project as a Prime Contractor: Los Angeles Engineering Mladen Buntich Construction Company Hayward Baker, Inc. Jilk Heavy Construction, Inc. Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. Mike Prlich & Sons, Inc. PPC Construction, Inc. Calex Engineering Clarke Contracting CITY ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE: $279,055.00 A Bid Bond is not required. The successful bidder shall provide two good and sufficient surety bonds. The Payment Bond and Performance Bond shall each be for not less than 100 percent of the Task Bid Price. Only pre-qualified contractors on the Pre-Qualified List of Contractors (above) can bid on this project as a Prime Contractor.
