Demolition and site work for a fitness / recreation center in Portland, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fitness / recreation center; and for site work for a fitness / recreation center.

Inc , awarded amount is $63.615.46** Clarification Deadline: 3/18/2022 4:23 PM Work includes but is not limited to the demolition and removal of a 1930's gymnasium building, related utilities, and all appurtenances to 4' below finished grade, abandoned and underground utility line and duct banks, mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, fixtures within and connected to the building exterior, bituminous sidewalk as noted, potential underground containment structures; cesspit, drainfield, and oil storage tank. Site excavations shall be filled with topsoils, and the entire site area fine graded to a smooth mowable condition, and stabilized by seeding and straw mulch. Any Hazmats shall be removed in accordance with specifications and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Mold is present in the building. The building has been inspected for the presence of Asbestos, and no asbestos was found. This bid opportunity includes an alternate bid for deconstruction of the same. This project is being financed in part by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. The project is subject to Prevailing Wage Rates. The PA Public Works Employment Verification Act applies to this project. The successful contractor will be required to file a form with the Borough verifying that all employees hired after Jan. 1, 2013 are legally eligible to work in this country. Questions related to the project shall be posted and replied via electronically. The last day for questions shall be March 18, 2022. Bid security in the form of a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid. This is a Prevailing Wage Rate job. The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish proof of insurance and bonds for Performance (100%), Payment (100%), and Maintenance (10% for 12 months) in such form as meets the approval of the Borough and having as security thereon such Surety company or companies as are listed on the U.S. Treasures Circular 570 and authorized to perform services in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, prior to award of a contract, in accordance with the Public Works Contractor's Bond Law of 1967, Act of December 20, 1967, P.L. 869,8 P.S. 191 et Seq. The bid results will be forwarded to the Borough Council, and read aloud at the Borough Council's regular meeting on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at the Borough Municipal Building, 206 Division Street, Portland, PA 18351. The Borough Council will review the bid results, and may award a contract at the meeting, or at another meeting announced at the April 4, 2022 meeting, or advertised in accordance with the Borough Code The Borough reserves the right to reject any and all bids for any cause whatsoever, to eliminate any item or items from the contract, and to waive any informalities, irregularities, or technicalities, including typographical errors, in the bids.
