The City of Covington and Keep Covington Beautiful are establishing a multi-year Live Oak preservation program. It consists of a limited inventory and evaluation of live oak trees that are in poor health and/or those healthier trees that may be at risk of early decline, and the initiation of actions that will improve their health. The General and Detailed Specifications have been developed for the Southern Live Oak (Quercus virginiana). Improve the health of selected Live Oak trees growing on public land belonging to the City of Covington through arboricultural actions to include but not limited to pruning, pruning strategies, critical root zone soil remediation and the installation of branch support systems. Complete a tree risk assessment inspection for selected trees after all specified work is completed. Submit a completed ISA Basic Tree Risk Assessment Form for each of the trees. Complete an inventory of each tree or selected trees using a format compatible with the city GIS system. GPS coordinates for each tree must be included. The data shall be sent to a designated city representative immediately upon project completion. Work Is to Be Completed & Invoiced by March 15, 2022
