Rehabilitation or replacement of water lines, valves, and appurtenances, including mobilizing and cooperating with Authority to develop appropriate rehabilitation solutions, installing remedies, bedding, and backfilling utilities, and restoring surface around area of work. Locations of the Work cannot be determined at time of Bid but will be established by Work Orders issued from time to time. Drawings, appropriate specifications, and geotechnical and environmental reports, as required or as available, will be provided with each Work Order. Work Orders will establish the scope, duration, and cost of the work. Cost of Work will be determined using Unit Prices, Actual Quantities, Adjustment Factor, and approved premium time multiplier, if applicable. Work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Assist Authority and Engineer to evaluate condition of existing water line and appurtenances. 2. Assist in identifying existing problem or cause of problem and contributing to proposed solution. 3. Photographing and documenting site conditions prior to start of work. 4. Work in cooperation with Authority and Engineer to execute a cost effective solution. 5. Properly notify Texas One-Call, other utilities impacted, as well as impacted residents and businesses. 6. Mobilize qualified personnel, foreman and crew, and appropriate equipment in a timely manner (as required by the Authority). 7. Mobilizing equipment and required supplies to site. 8. Establish necessary shoring to minimize damage to existing facilities in area. 9. Provide appropriate Traffic Control Measures, including uniformed peace officers and certified flaggers. 10. Assist Authority with turning off water supplies. 11. Pump excess water out of waterline. 12. Performing such immediate temporary and permanent work as determined necessary by the Authority to mitigate against further damage to surrounding facilities. 13. Assist Engineer with manned entry. 14. Expeditiously perform agreed upon/approved rehabilitation or repairs. 15. Arrange for soils, coating, weld, concrete, and other material testing, as required. 16. Restore site to its original condition or better. 17. Assist other utility companies in securing their facilities, if necessary. 18. Assist Authority with disinfection and flushing of water lines. D. Equipment used by Contractor regardless if owned or rented by the Contractor will be paid based on the rates from the "Rental Rate Blue Book for Construction Equipment," or also known as, "Data Quest Blue Book." Miscellaneous tools and equipment such as shovels and small hand power tools are incidental.
