Site work and paving for a road / highway in Eagleville, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Proposal for 2022 Road Improvements Project. Requirements for a 10% Bid Bond, 100% Performance Bond, and 100% Payment Bond are included in the contract documents. Prevailing state wage rates and Public Works Employment Verification Act will apply on this project. Each bidder must deposit with this bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders. The Township of Lower Providence reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to make such award as appears most advantageous to the Township. 1. 1 14 inch Milling-This work is to include all material, labor and equipment required to complete the 1 14 inch milling and disposal of all milled material. The intent of this work is to mill 1 14 inch depth for the entire width of the roadway. 2. Traffic Controls - Under this scope of work the contractor is obligated to provide the manpower, signage, and expertise to protect the traveling public. We will allow for lane closures so long as the proper flagman are in place to monitor traffic. The balance of the roads are permitted to be closed so long as proper notification is given to the residents and accommodations made for homeowners to access the site in appropriate time intervals. Flaggers are required to be stationed at both ends of the road closure during construction. All roads must be opened, safe, and passable for the traveling public after each work day. 3. Base Repairs - In this scope of work the contractor is to remove 6 inches of the existing sub base material and replace it with 25 mm performance grade asphalt. It is the intent to create a minimum 4-foot-wide repair measuring a total square yard in each line item in the bid spec. The quantities are estimates only. Township representatives will direct for areas to have base repair. 4. Leveling Asphalt Course -At its sole discretion, the Township staff will direct the contractor to place a leveling course on the roadway intended to help reestablish the road profile, address deteriorating road conditions and to address certain minor deflections in the road surface. The quantities listed in the bid form are for bidding purposes only. The contractor shall not rely on these quantities to establish their bid pricing. However, it is clearly our intent to use the leveling course to create a more consistent road paving project. There will be some leveling of each roadway. Contractor shall not arbitrarily place the entire tonnage listed in the bid form unless clearly directed by Township representatives. 5. Sanitary Sewer Manhole Casting Adjustments - Under this scope of work we seek to make repair and adjustments to existing manholes located within the project roads. Over the years, grade adjustment rings having been utilized to set the rim elevations. We will take this opportunity to remove the rings and adjust the casting based upon the detail attached as a technical specification to this document. It is our intent to utilize this line item to modify the castings from 0 inches to 12 inches in elevation adjustment. The Township sewer authority representatives and the contractor will meet on site to determine the exact elevation adjustment for each manhole. It will be the contractor's obligation to protect the casting from the time of the adjustment to the placement of the final wearing surface on the roadway. 8.
