Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Petersburg, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.
The scope of the project includes rehabilitating the existing asphalt Taxiway and Main Apron pavement surfaces, milling and paving the Fuel Farm Apron, constructing a concrete fueling pad, and demolition of a concrete slab at the Grant County Airport located near Petersburg, West Virginia. The rehabilitation will consist of removing the existing airfield pavement markings to prevent shadowing, cleaning the surface of all deleterious material, repairing existing cracks and joints. placing a refined coal tar emulsion surface treatment, and placing the airfield pavement markings. The milling of the Fuel Farm Apron will include milling the existing top 2" of the asphalt pavement surface, undercut excavation and backfill, and placing 2" of HMA WVDOT Surface Course asphalt. Construction of the fueling pad will include existing asphalt pavement removal, existing subgrade excavation, and placing the concrete. The concrete slab demolition will require removal of the existing concrete structure and placing select engineered fill. The rehabilitation of Taxiway A and Main Apron will be under the Base Bid. The rehabilitation of Taxiways B, C, D, E, F, and G will be under Additive Alternate No. 1. Reconstruction of the Fuel Farm Apron will be under Additive Alternate No. 2. Constructing the concrete fueling pad will be under Additive Alternate No. 3. Demolition of the existing concrete slab will be under Additive Alternate No. 4. The project will also include mobilization and any other appurtenances required for a complete project detailed by the plans and specifications prepared by Chapman Technical Group. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Grant County Airport Authority, Petersburg, West Virginia, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Base Bid and Additive Alternate This project, due to the amount of federal participation, requires the Contractor to meet a goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation of 4.4 percent (4.4%). The Grant County Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
