Fire Station 1 was built in 1993 and has five bays totaling 23,379 square feet. This station does not have adequate space for a 24/7 operation. This upgrade is necessary to meet ongoing and future needs of the fire department. The building is not meeting the needs of the fire department personnel. The current layout does not include space for dorm rooms, current health and safety requirements for fire staff.This plan includes updating heating and cooling units, reorganizing the space on the main level, providing living and sleeping quarters as an addition to the existing building. As of January 19, 2023, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2032 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
