This RFP can be summarized as both an update for existing design standards applied in downtown zoning districts and the expansion of the Downtown Design Manual to provide guidance in the Riverfront area of Downtown Fort Wayne. The Downtown Design Manual consists of standards that are either recommended or required for development in the Downtown Core (DC) and Downtown Edge (DE) zoning districts. The design standards apply to a variety of construction categories, land uses, and to public realm as well as private property; in this way the standards are comprehensive and thorough. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
