Rehabilitation of Water Storage Facilities for the Lynnfield Water District. The scope of work includes the rehabilitation of the two existing drinking water storage tanks (1.5MG and 0.57MG standpipes, respectively) located behind 345 Broadway in Lynnfield, MA. Work shall include a full interior and exterior blast and coat of the 1.5MG tank with bid alternates for a spot interior and exterior blast and coat of the 0.57MG tank or a full interior and exterior blast and coat of the 0.57 MG tank. Work shall include paint removal, containment, disposal, air quality monitoring, miscellaneous repairs, repainting, and related items. The scope of work of the Base Bid includes, but is not limited to: a. Full abrasive blast cleaning and recoating of interior and exterior surfaces of 1.5 MG water storage tank. Abrasive blast cleaning and recoating shall include the whole tank and all appurtenances, including but not limited to, roof platform floor, handrails, ladder, and ladder cage assembly. Painting, pit welding, patching, and seam sealing shall be as specified in Section 09972 - PAINTING STEEL WATER STORAGE TANKS. b. Repairs, modifications, and appurtenant work including as needed additional grinding and blasting for cell carrier and antenna metal studs on the 1.5 MG water storage tank as noted on the plans and as listed in Section 13207 - STEEL WATER STORAGE TANKS AND APPURTENANCES. c. All work, materials, equipment, sampling, and testing required to remove and properly dispose of the 1-inch of accumulated sediment on the bottom of the 1.5 MG tank interior. d. Coordination with cellular companies, the Owner, and the Town of Lynnfield regarding cell and antenna equipment relocation and reattachment. e. All work, materials, and equipment required to construct and maintain Type C1 rigid scaffolding for the Class 2A containment system for the 1.5 MG tank.
