Renovation of an educational facility in Akron, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project scope includes the renovation of an existing classroom (Rm. 521) to create a new marketing lab. The work will include the removal and replacement of all carpeting and wall base within the room and in a small area just outside of the primary work area. All walls within the room a few walls outside of the room will be repainted. The existing flush wood door leading to the room will be replaced with a new wood door with a full light. Additional power and data outlets will be installed in this room, and the Contractor will be responsible for installing (3) television monitors and corresponding wall brackets purchased by the University of Akron. The contractor will also be responsible for opening up the existing walls, installing plywood or 2x blocking for the TV mounts, then patching the walls prior to painting. There will be no ceiling, lighting, or switching changes as part of this project. Also, there will be no HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, or fire alarm scope included in this project. EDGE REQUIREMENTS - 5% EDGE Participation Goal. A Performance and Payment bond will be required for all projects greater than $50,000, and for all projects of any size involving demolition, excavation, utility work, hazardous materials, specialized work, or roofing.
