The Poway Unified School District is seeking a source to provide comprehensive collection and waste resource management services to eliminate, reduce, re-use, recycle, compost, and process or dispose of specified materials generated within the District. The requested services include basic container service (including the furnishing and maintenance of collection containers of various types and sizes); pick-up, hauling, and disposal of solid waste; pick-up, hauling, processing and marketing of single-stream and source-separated recyclables; pick-up, hauling and delivery of compostables, including source separated landscape material and food discards, to a composting or processing facility; bulky item collection, an education and outreach program, waste characterization, tracking and reporting, and any other negotiated service. Your proposal should demonstrate your company's ability to perform basic service as well as prove your company's value to the District in added services such as educational components, "Zero Waste" strategies, other technologies, etc. that improve the District's resource efficiency beyond traditional waste and recycling collection, help the District towards meeting State of California requirements set by SB 1383, and to save public funds. The intended term of this Agreement is Five (5) years from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2027. Each Proposal must conform and be responsive to this invitation, the Information for Proposers, the Specifications, and all other documents comprising the pertinent RFP documents. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to accept or to reject any one or more items on a proposal, or to waive any irregularities or informalities in the proposal or in the proposal process. The District may award a contract according to the State of California Education Code Section, 20118.2. The RFP shall not obligate the District to purchase or agree to any services specified herein. Furthermore, the District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received, to negotiate with any qualified source or to cancel in part or in its entirety this RFP, if it is determined by the District to be in its best interest.
