As of April 19, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. Bids come in way over budgeted numbers. Generally, the work includes converting from a boiler heating system to a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) heating and cooling system and dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) with controls. Work also includes ceiling demolition and replacement; demolition of existing basement access; and installation of a ground mounted rooftop unit with ductwork for gymnasium heating and cooling. 1. Properly completed Proposal Form in duplicate. 2. Bid Deposit of Bid. 3. Not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor pursuant to Illinois Revised Statutes, Ch. 489, Sec. 39s-1 et. seq. All Bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to the provisions of the "Illinois Prevailing Wage Act". Prevailing wage rates have been determined and are on file at the Office of the State of Illinois Department of Labor, telephone (217) 782-6206. All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a notarized certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of either Section 33 E-3 or33E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Certification is located on the Bid Form, Section 00 50 00, of the Project Manual. 14. Failure of Bidders to submit bid bond, certified check or casher's check in amount to cover proposals bid upon is cause for rejection of bid. Successful Bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the contract cost on prescribed forms within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bond shall be by a duly authorized U.S. Treasury Backed company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, acceptable to Owner. The South Fork Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted. No bid shall be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after opening of bids without written consent of the Owner.
