Demolition Bids fhe City of Kewanee is seeking bids for the demolition of the building and related work loc-ited at 807 Columbus Ave. in Kewanee. Bidders rust comply with the City of Kewanee Code of ordinances Sections 150.075 - 150.081, Demoli-ion of Buildings, which is available at City Hall. only clean debris permitted by the Illinois Envir-)nmental Protection Act section 3.160.b may be used as fill material. This means only uncontam-nated broken concrete without protruding met-il bars, bricks, rock, stone or soil generated from :onstruction or demolition activities. The work Consists of demolishing the existing building on the site and disposing of the demolition debris n a legal manner. Provide a level surface upon completion. Perform other related work as in-iicated in the scope of work. All work is to be Completed within 28 days after receiving notice o proceed from the City. EXCEPTION: Should a contractor win a bid on multiple properties with :he same bid opening date, the Contractor shall .eceive 15 additional days per winning property Ad. Should the Contractor fail to perform all work by the expiration of this deadline, the Contractor acknowledges that they may be deemed in "irresponsible bidder" for the purpose of future bidding opportunities and potentially dis-ivalified from bidding as such. A bid bond or certified check for an amount equal to 10% of the total value of the Did must accompany said bid. RFP bonds will be mshed/depostted and returned to non-winning Adders after the opening in the form of a check Tom the City of Kewanee. Winning Bidders )ond will remain In the City of Kewanee ac-:aunt until completion of Job. The City of Ke-wanee reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities. It is understood and agreed that the award will De made to the lowest responsible bidder who ;ubmits the proposal that provides the City, in is opinion, the best value for the lump sum cost proposed.
