Demolition, site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in St Catharines, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 6,921-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
PREQUALIFIED FIRMS only. Construction of Fire Station No. 2 - Replacement. The construction project will include demolition of the existing Fire Station and construction of a new 643 sq m (6921 sq ft) building housing a double drive-through apparatus bay, plus equipment rooms, hose tower, Captain's Office, plus five (5) semi-private dormitories, fitness centre, kitchen, lounge, fully accessible universal washroom, showers and locker room. The building is designed to the requirements of the Canada Green Building Council Zero Carbon Design Standard therefore construction materials and assemblies exceed the standards of those typically accepted by the Ontario Building Code such as double stud wall assemblies, triple glazed windows, heat pumps and a roof mounted solar photovoltaic array.
