Hoffard Pond on the main campus of John A. Logan College needs to be dredged out to the pond's original depth of 18' and the Mirror Pool needs to be dredged to the existing concrete floor. Contractor Notes: Hoffard Pond is approximately 23,000 SF. Mirror Pool is approximately 9,000 SF. Hoffard Pond water fountain shall be removed and reinstalled by JALC facilities staff. Contractor to coordinate with JALC facilities staff for traffic control, staging areas, and equipment storage. Provide materials and labor for Base Bid: Drain Hoffard pond to bottom depth of mirror pool utilizing existing valve system. Dam Hoffard pond and pump out the remaining water. Dredge Hoffard pond to the original 18 depth in the middle, and slope to match the existing shorelines. Dredge Mirror pool to the existing concrete floor. Contractor to work with JALC facility staff to ensure that the dredged areas meet the needs of the college. o JALC will provide a dumping location for dredged materials. Contractor to coordinate with JALC facilities staff in the event any artifact or a man-made object is found. Provide landscaping fabric as a base for the rip-rap for erosion control. Landscaping fabric and rip-rap to extend 6 horizontally into the waterline, and 10 horizontally away from the waterline. Waterline is determined to be the high watermark. All depressions, ruts, debris, garbage, etc. to be repaired, reseeded, and cleaned to the approval of the JALC facilities staff. Disturbed areas must be able to be maintained by JALC facilities staff upon completion of this project. Prior to work beginning, a walk-through with JALC facilities staff must occur. Upon substantial completion of this project s work, the contractor shall notify JALC facilities staff to schedule a walk-through of the project to create a punch list for final completion and payment.
