Site work and outdoor lighting for a transportation facility in Sechelt, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for outdoor lighting for a transportation facility.
The District of Sechelt (the “District”) is requesting Proposals for the provision of materials and labour for a medium intensity airport lighting system including: runway and taxiway edge lights, Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI), airfield guidance signs, retroreflective markers, ARCAL unit, Constant Current Regulator and Lighting Control Panel. The District of Sechelt is located on the west coast of British Columbia (“BC”) approximately 30 kilometers’ (“km”) north of Vancouver. The region, known as the Sunshine Coast, includes approximately 3900 square km on the Sechelt Peninsula surrounded by the waters of the Strait of Georgia, Howe Sound, and Sechelt Inlet. The Sunshine Coast does not have an overland route to the BC mainland and is dependent on the BC Ferry Corporation for the movement of vehicles or by barge for other items. A passenger ferry service runs between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale in the south and a smaller passenger service between Earl’s Cove and Saltery Bay in the north. The Sechelt Airport is located in Wilson Creek south the Sechelt on Hilltop Road at the northern end of Field Road. The airport has a newly extended and paved 3246 ft x 75’ wide runway. The scope of work under this RFP includes: the provision of all necessary materials, labour, tools and equipment to provide a complete Airfield Lighting system including: runway and taxiway edge lights, Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI) systems, airfield guidance signs, retroreflective markers, ARCAL unit, Constant Current Regulator and Lighting Control Panel. Most conduit, counterpoise, warning tape and pullpits for use by this contract are existing All work is to be done in conformance with the Drawings and Specification attached and the MMCD.
