Renovation of a fire / police facility in Madison, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
The Facilities Department on behalf of the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Madison, Connecticut are seeking SEALED Bids from interested individuals, firms or consultant teams to provide new carpet tile flooring for the locker rooms as well as floor repairs and new material in one electrical room at the Madison Police Department, located at 9 Campus Drive, Madison, Connecticut 06443 Due to State regulations, this is a Prevailing Wage project. The work to be performed for the project is two parts. The male and female locker rooms are being renovated to include a new locker layout. Existing carpet tile flooring will be removed by locker installer at time of new locker install prior to flooring install. Flooring installer will install new carpet tile and new cove base around the new installed lockers. The existing bathroom tile is to remain, new carpet tile flooring is to terminate smoothly into existing tile. Second portion of the project involves a smaller electrical room. Existing floor is cracked and damaged. Flooring contractor is to remove damaged floor as carefully as possible so as not to create dust and disturbance to existing sensitive electrical and IT equipment. Equipment is to be protected, damaged floor is to be removed as needed, floor is to be leveled, sealed, and new flooring installed around existing equipment. Awarded bidder will be responsible for field measurements, procurement of all materials, removal of any remaining materials from demolition of electrical floor or installation, and protection of existing equipment, lockers and finishes. The Town of Madison reserves the right to waive any informalities, irregularities or defects in bids, to reject any and all bids and to accept a bid that, in its sole discretion, is in the best interest of the Town. Work shall include field measurements of both Men's and Women's locker room floors. Existing carpet tile is from original building and applied directly to the subfloor underneath lockers and is to be removed by locker contractor. New lockers will be installed directly on top of subfloor. Flooring contractor is responsible for preparing subfloor for new carpet tiles, patching and leveling as needed, removing existing cove base and patching wall as needed, installing new carpet tiles around base of lockers, installing new cove base. Project Area (2) is a small room off the main corridor housing electrical panels and highly sensitive IT equipment. Current flooring is damaged and chipping in multiple areas. Flooring contractor is to fully seal and protect existing functioning IT and electrical equipment following the guidance of the Town IT supervisor prior to starting any work. Damaged flooring is to be removed to the extent possible, remaining floor to be skim coat leveled, sealed, and new carpet tile installed on top and to base of existing equipment. It is understood that not all existing flooring can be removed due to the placement of existing drilled in equipment, expectations are to seal and prevent further damage to the floor as much as possible to provide a safe, dust free environment. award-Sullivan And Son
