Denton Municipal Electric (DME, City of Denton, Texas) is seeking proposals for demolition and construction of a gravity retaining wall on the corner of Bernard St and Collins St. It is the intent of this specification to provide the necessary information to allow prospective Contractors to construct a gravity retaining wall on the corner of Bernard St and Collins St as described in the drawings. It is not possible to specify or describe every detail of work required to complete a project of this nature or to predict problems that might be encountered. The successful Contractor will be required to provide all labor, equipment, tools, specified material, and incidental items necessary to undertake the construction and complete the project, as described herein, resulting in a functional wall that performs to its intended purposes. Minor omissions from the specification or drawings shall not relieve the Contractor from the obligation to provide the completed project that is fully functional as intended by the City. Failure of this specification to describe each detail or incidental item necessary for a complete and functional project shall not entitle the Contractor to additional charges. Examples of items that will not be considered as basis for claims for additional cost are, but shall not be limited to, minor relocations, minor changes in the elevations, reasonable weather delays, site cleanup, etc. Further, all work shall be performed and completed in a thorough and workmanlike manner and shall follow the best modern, recognized practices, notwithstanding any omissions from this specification.
