Scope: The City of Maplewood, Missouri is seeking a qualified contractor or contractors with a minimum of (5) five years of experience to perform sewer cabling, television inspection, locating and marking of defects in residential sewer laterals in advance of their repair. The Public Works Department has operated a Sewer Lateral Repair Program since 1998, and uses its own personnel for excavation, defective pipe removal, backfilling and surface restoration. The city contracts with a St. Louis County licensed drainlayer for drainlaying work. Requirements: Contractor shall have all equipment necessary to perform the work requested. The City of Maplewood does not have any equipment available for use by the contractor. The contractor shall have a generator available to use so that the contractor will not have to use power from the resident s house to operate equipment. Description of Work 1. Cable the sewer lateral to clear the line to the fullest extent possible. 2. Inspect the lateral with television equipment, and locate defects in the sewer lateral. 3. Mark the length and depth of the area of the defective sewer pipe with spray paint on the pavement or lawn. 4. Email a written report to the Public Works Superintendent providing a diagram or written description of the defect in the pipe and where the defect is located. 5. Provide a videotape of the pipe inspection. Contractor shall complete cabling, television inspection, locating, marking and reporting the results within 24 hours after receiving notice of the job location(s) via email. Job locations are forwarded to the contractor throughout the year. Duration: The City will award the service work for one (1) year. The service work may be extended for up to four (4) additional years, with price increases (as determined by the national cost of living index) at the discretion of the City of Maplewood.
