The City of Newberry is seeking bids for the complete demolition, abatement, and disposal of eight (8) vacant and dilapidated residential structures of varying size in the West End neighborhood. This project is funded in part by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development CDBG Program. All Federal CDBG program requirements will apply to the resulting contract. The City of Newberry (the City) will accept separate sealed bids for the complete demolition and disposal of eight (8) vacant and dilapidated residential structures. Five (5) structures are known to contain asbestos or asbestos-containing material (ACM), and three (3) structures are not known to contain asbestos or asbestos- containing materials. The bid amount shall include the removal of all construction materials above and below grade for each parcel. All underground utilities such as water,sewer, and gas connections are to be terminated and sealed at the street right- of-way, and the work shall include removal of all buried pipes and footingsfor each parcel. Lots shall be left clean and free of debris and include trimming of overgrowth, bush hogging, stump/dead tree removal, vine removal, leveling with clean fill, and seeded. All materials from the sites shall be disposed of properly in accordance with all regulations. No on-site burning or burying of materials is permitted.
