Renovation of a detention facility in Fairfax, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 400-square-foot detention facility.
**As of May 2, 2023, project was awarded to SandBlast America, awarded amount is $17,663.75.** The purpose of this solicitation is to request bids, from qualified vendors, for the demolition, cleaning, and re-surfacing of approximately 400 Sq. Ft. of fiberglass reinforced panels (FRP) and a stainless-steel floor pan in the kitchen cart wash station of the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, 10520 Judicial Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030. The current area is covered in fiberglass reinforced panels (FRP), with a stainless-steel floor pan, which is original to the construction of the West Building of the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center in May of 1998. It has undergone repairs since 1998, but the panels are pulling away from the concrete and not sealing properly the area which has led to mold/mildew and an insect infestation. The County expects, the new surface will be sealed to circumvent moisture and insects, eliminate odor, provide slip resistance and improve the reflectivity of the lighting in the cart wash station.
