The Lee County Board of Supervisors is seeking proposals from interested individuals or contractors to perform operation and maintenance duties at the Blackwater Solid Waste Convenience Center. The County of Lee is seeking proposals for the operation and maintenance of the Blackwater Solid Waste Convenience Center located at 3235 Sugar Run Road, Jonesville, Virginia. Proposals should include the monthly cost for services due for all work under this proposal. Payment will be made either monthly or bi-monthly based on contractor's preference. Monthly payments will be made on the last day of the month. Bi-monthly payments will be made on the 15th and last day of the month. Contractor must comply with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety Administration requirements associated with the worksite. Appropriate safety apparel must be worn by the contractor, their employees, or representatives while performing contract duties at the site. Convenience Center gates are to be opened at 7:00 a.m. and closed at 8:00 p.m. daily including weekends. All loose trash on the ground is to be picked up and placed in dumpsters daily with the exception of appliances, furniture and other heavy items. Dumpster lids are to be left in the closed position overnight and are to be opened each morning upon opening the site. Any site mowing or weedeating required will be the responsibility of the contractor. Any mowers, weedeaters, other equipment, gas, and accessories will be supplied by the contractor. Site is to be kept as neat and clean as possible. If the individual or contractor is currently required to have general liability and/or workmen's compensation insurance coverage, please provide a copy of the policy(ies) with your proposal. The contractor selected will be an independent contractor and shall indemnify the County from any and all liability from any damages, injuries or other actions as a result of contractor's performance of the services provided. At no time shall contractor, contractor's employees, agents, or representatives be considered employees of the County. Contract term will be for a period of one year beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023. After the initial one year term, the contract may be extended by mutual consent of the County and the contractor. The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any informality or irregularity in any proposal received and to accept or reject any and all items of proposal. Any proposal received after the deadline scheduled for receipt will be returned unopened. The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
