The Lee County Board of Supervisors invites design-build contractors to submit qualifications relating to design and construction of a parking lot behind the Lee County Courthouse in Jonesville, Virginia. The location of the lot will be as indicated on the attached Google Earth image. The design and construction will include, but may not be limited to: 1. Topographic and boundary survey by a Virginia licensed land surveyor. 2. Design of drainage systems to divert storm water to nearby existing storm water system. 3. Adjustment or relocation of any existing underground utilities in the proposed parking area. 4. Removal of existing concrete slabs, masonry and concrete foundations, and concrete masonry on the existing concrete retaining wall. 5. Required cut, fill, and grading, pavement, stripping, curbs and gutters, and signage. 6. Erosion and sediment control and permitting, if required. 7. Obtaining County building permit. Interested design-build contractors must meet the following minimum requirements. 1. Licensed Class "A" contractor in Virginia. 2. Licensed Virginia professional engineer on team. 3. Five years experience designing and constructing similar projects. 4. Provide description and owner references for three similar projects, either design-build or design-bid-build. 5. Survey to be provided by a Virginia licensed land surveyor. Selection of design-build contractors, deemed qualified based on experience and references along with proper licenses, will be made by County appointed committee and will be asked to submit design and cost proposals based on provided schematic level drawings of proposed parking lot.
