Scope of Services Project Objectives A. The objective of this on-call Services Agreement is for Consultant to perform Engineering Geology and Geotechnical Engineering services to support Valley Water s Penitencia Creek Landslide and Santa Clara Conduit Calaveras Fault Crossing Monitoring Program. B. The objective of the Valley Water s Penitencia Creek Landslide and Santa Clara Conduit Calaveras Fault Crossing Monitoring Program is to identify and evaluate the effects of known engineering geologic hazards on the Valley Water s Water Utility Infrastructure. Project Background A. Valley Water's Penitencia Water Treatment Plant, Penitencia Delivery Main and Penitencia Force Main and the California Department of Water Resource s South Bay Aqueduct and Terminal Tank were constructed on a known, large, and slowly moving landslide. B. The Santa Clara Conduit, which is owned by USBR and operated by the District, was constructed across the known and active Calaveras Seismic Fault. C. Since their original construction, Valley Water, in an effort to maintain and ensure the long-term reliability of the respective systems has monitored and analyzed the engineering geologic hazards to: 1. Determine the effects of the landslide and the Calaveras fault on the water utility infrastructure, and 2. Plan infrastructure improvements to mitigate the effects of the resulting differential displacements. Submittals for RFP Questions due by 2:00 PM on March 2, 2022. Valley Water Response to Questions will be posted on March 21, 2022. Oral Interviews Tentatively Scheduled for the week of April 27, 2022 - May 4, 2022.
