Site work and renovation of a civil project in Homer, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Currently, water from the Skyline water treatment plant is delivered to Homer via two transmission mains. One main (12-inch) is located along East Hill Road and delivers water to the east side of town. The other (8-inch) runs directly down to the center of town. A third transmission main is needed to deliver water to the west side of town, provide water to the upper West Hill area, and provide backup support to the two existing transmission mains. A new water storage facility is also needed to meet the demands of a rapidly growing community. The addition of a third water transmission main has been identified in comprehensive water plans for over 20 years. The project is included in the city's 2022-2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As March 3, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified.* *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
