The extent of work is as contained within these specifications, and generally includes but is not necessarily limited to the following: modifications to the existing truck loading area as required by the Contractor (subject to Owner's approval); removing liquid sludge and/or scum/grease from treatment plant or and/or pump stations; transporting and disposal in accordance with Local, State, and Federal regulations; protection of existing facilities, all required permits from the Local, State, and Federal Agencies, testing, documentation, and all other items incidental thereto. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid or bids. Only bonds from companies licensed to do business in the State where the Owner is located will be accepted and the bond shall so state same. Bids must be submitted unconditionally. No bidder may withdraw bid within SIXTY (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids. The Wastewater Treatment Plant at 492 Thornton Road, Thornton, PA will be open to all prospective bidders weekly Tuesday through Thursday, between 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. for inspection. The contract shall be for a period of one (1) year from the date of the Notice to Proceed (Base Bid). The Owner reserves the right to award the contract for an additional one (1) year (Add Alternate 1) or additional two (2) years (Add Alternate 2).
