The Fairfield County Utilities Department (FCU) desires to retain an outside firm (Consultant) to perform construction inspection and engineering services, on an as-needed basis for the period of March 2022 to January 2023. This on-call contract is necessary to ensure that water and wastewater systems and facilities are in accordance with the FCU construction standards. Submittals shall comply with the standards set forth in the Proposals for Construction Inspection and Engineering Services. The Consultant shall perform construction inspection and engineering services on an on-call basis and will work under the direction and supervision of the Deputy Director. Inspection activities will cover both private developer-funded projects and internal funded projects. A project selection team will rank, and score all submitted Proposals to determine the most qualified Consultant. Scoring and ranking of Proposals will be based upon a pre-determined set of criteria outlined in the Request for Proposals for Construction Inspection and Engineering Services. The determination of the selected Consultant shall be final and not subject to appeal. The committee will negotiate an agreement with the top ranked firm. If an agreement cannot be reached, the committee will negotiate with the next ranked firm. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
