The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure of British Columbia, Rockwork Engineering Section requests quotations from suppliers of rockfall control systems to supply 2600 m2 of high tensile steel slope mesh for rockfall control. The slope mesh shall be supplied in about 20 to 30 individual rolls with a roll dimension of 3.5 m to 4.0 m wide by 25 m to 30 m long. The mesh shall meet the following technical criteria: Wire Type: high tensile, alloyed steel wire Minimum Wire Diameter: 3 mm Minimum Wire Tensile Strength: 1770 N/mm2 Maximum Mesh Opening Clearance: 65 mm (diameter) Corrosion Protection, Zn/Al Minimum Coating Thickness: 150 g/m2 Minimum Unit Weight: 1.65 kg/m2 Fasteners: The supplier shall include a sufficient number of high strength galvanized or stainless steel fasteners or clips to connect mesh panels along vertical seams. For fastener material quantity determination, assume vertical seams are overlapped about 150 to 200 mm. Also assume fasteners are installed along each side of the mesh overlaps at a vertical spacing of about 50 mm to 100 mm per fastener or as required to match strength of the mesh in the weakest direction. Quotations must be F.O.B. destination including all delivery, duties, taxes and brokerage fees. The supplier is responsible for unloading the mesh from the truck to ground level at the designated location within the Annacis Yard. The entire yard is unpaved gravel.
