As of April 24, 2023, this project has been cancelled. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education is accepting bids only from gymnasium flooring refinishing contractors for a gymnasium floor refinishing project at Geneva Middle School South in Geneva, Illinois. The floor refinishing contractor will function as the project general contractor. Bids will not be accepted from firms other than floor finishing contractors. The scope of work includes providing all labor, materials, accessories, engineering, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary for completion of the work indicated in the Bid Documents including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: temporary protection, dust control, floor sanding, installing floor sleeves, painting game lines, and floor finishing. The work site is Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive, Geneva, IL 60134. The on-site construction is scheduled to commence during the district's 2022 summer break starting on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, with a Substantial Completion date of Friday, August 5, 2022. Liquidated damages apply to the Substantial Completion date. It is anticipated that the contracts will be awarded by the Board of Education at their regular meeting on Monday, April 11, 2022. The Contractor shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under this contract, and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The Contractor will be required to submit electronic copies of their certified payrolls with each application for payment using the Illinois Department of Labor's Prevailing Wage Portal. The Geneva Community Unit School District 304 Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, reject nonconforming bids, reject conditional bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedures, or to accept any bid that, in its sole opinion, best serves the interests of the School District.
