Site work and new construction of a playground / park / athletic field in Morganton, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 1,329-square-foot playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

This project is being let as an informal bid, No Bid Bond will be required. The project involves building the new 17'5" X 30' +/- restroom facility building, with a footprint of approximately 1329 SF +/-. In lieu of the City not requiring a bid bond, performance bond, material and labor bond, the City will require as part of the construction agreement a 10% retainage on all payments thru the entire project upon completion of the project. Before final payment is submitted the contractor shall provide to the City written lien waivers signed by all subcontractors and suppliers affirming that all labor and materials have been paid in full, and that the City is fully released from any claims of lien related to such. References to bonds and retainage in the Instruction to Bidders and General Conditions would not apply. Liquidated Damages: $200 per calendar day Time of Completion: The total time allowed for this project shall be 120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The owner of the work to be done under these plans and specifications is the City of Morganton, represented by the Mayor, City Council and City Manager. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept the bid that appears to be in the best interest of the City, or provided by law. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after the scheduled bid opening.
