Inspect, test, and repair the handicap fishing docks at the Veterans fishing area, USGS Eastern Ecological Science Center, 11649 Leetown Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430. The magnitude of the construction requirement is between $50,000 and $100,000. All questions pertaining to this solicitation, including questions that arise during a site visit, must be submitted to kmurray@usgs.gov. Questions/answers discussed at the site visit will not be binding on the resultant contract unless submitted in writing to kmurray@usgs.gov and incorporated into the solicitation by amendment. Questions must be submitted no later than 7 days before the quote due date to allow sufficient time for a response.
*The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The scope of work includes but is not limited to:
- Inspect the 3 docks for structural integrity, provide report to Technical Liaison (TL).
- Upon review of the report, a work plan shall be provided to the TL within 15 days.
- Ensure that the pier supports are still considered structurally safe.
- Replace all deck boards with new 2 by material that is labeled for ground contact.
- New lumber shall be installed with screws that are labeled for use with pressure treated lumber.
- Boards shall be installed with a standard gap for drainage.
- Any railing boards found to be defective shall be replaced.
- Any joists found to be defective shall be replaced.
Contractor is responsible for:
- Verifying all dimensions.
- Coordination with the TL for scheduling.
- Providing report to TL on any and all issues with the docks.
- Completion of all work in compliance with industry standards.
- Protecting the water and wildlife in the pond.
- Checking in and out daily / COVID requirements
