Renovation of a municipal facility in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
1- Existing Roofs - Buildings 300 and 75: The existing roofs of the two buildings are being replaced, as they are original construction, and have reached the end of their functional lives. The Architectural portion of the project involves the replacement of the roofing materials (membranes and insulation) with modern, state of the industry materials and methods, to restore the water tightness of the systems. In addition, the roofing work will support the reconfiguration of the ventilation system in Building 300, by closing off a number of existing roof openings and the provision of new fan openings. 2- Existing Exhaust Fans (Eq. No's TS-DUF-TRB-EF-001 and TS-DUF-TRB-EF-002): The existing exhaust fans that ventilate the Tipping Floor are slated for removal because of their age and the accompanying concerns over their reliability. The mechanical portion of the project seeks to replace these fans with the optimal technological solution considering current standards and codes and the present condition and use of the Tipping Floor as these have changed since the existing fans were installed. 3- Electrical Power & Control Upgrades for HVAC Modifications: The roof replacement at Building 300 requires the replacement of two (2) existing exhaust fans with six (6) new roof top exhaust fans and two (2) new side wall supply fans. The electrical portion of this project involves the decommissioning of the existing fans power and controls accompanied by the corresponding provision of power and controls for the eight (8) new units.
