The City of Sedro-Woolley is soliciting bids under the City's Small Works Roster process utilizing MRSC Rosters for crack sealing of several city streets, and one city parking lot. The selected contractor shall provide labor, equipment, and materials to perform the work as described below. The contractor shall clean all Transverse, Reflective and Longitudinal cracks greater than 1/8" -inch in width with the Hot Compressed Air Lance method. Cracks greater than 1/4 " shall also be cleaned prior to hot compressed air cleaning with a mechanical wire brush Cracks shall be completely filled in with hot applied joint sealant asphalt emulsion crack seal. "Crack Sealing" shall be performed in accordance with FHWA Technical briefing "Sealing and Filing Cracks in Asphalt Pavements," current edition. Crack Seal treatment material to be "Crafco Road Saver 543 Low Tack" or City approved equal. Total length of cracks to be cleaned and sealed is approximately 40,000 LF. Contractor shall be responsible for furnishing all traffic control. Traffic control plans to be approved by the City Engineer. City will assist with public notification of the affected streets, and will coordinate having vehicles removed from streets prior to the beginning of work. *Engineers estimate for this project is $40,000 to $45,000 Proposals shall include mobilization and demobilization, traffic control plans, traffic control, clean up and disposal of materials removed from cracks, labor, equipment and materials, sales tax, freight, all licenses, permits, fees etc. not otherwise specifically mentioned to safely complete the job. Materials and Construction provided for this project will be per City of Sedro-Woolley Public Works Department Standards and the current edition of the Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge and Municipal Construction. State prevailing wage rates per Washington State Department of Labor and Industries are required. The City of Sedro-Woolley reserves the right, without any liability on our part, to accept a proposal of the bidder submitting the lowest responsible bid, to reject any or all bids, revise or cancel the work to be performed, or do the work otherwise, if the best interest of the City is served thereby.
