Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Acushnet, Massachusetts. The work includes the replacement of the existing bridges which carry Hamlin Street over the Acushnet River. The replacement of this town-owned bridge consists of replacing one bridge and two culverts. The project also includes roadway reconstruction in the vicinity of the bridge. The project will be coordinated with the local fish ladder project organization, "Hands Across the River". Over the next five years. MassDOT expects to invest over $3 billion repairing the Commonwealth’s Bridges. This includes $816 million already programmed in the STIP using BIL’s reauthorization of existing programs, $1.1 billion under BIL’s new Bridge Formula Program, and $1.25 billion in bonding authority under the Commonwealth’s Next Generation Bridge Program.
