WCSU is seeking a full service, high quality, cost effective company to provide trash removal and recycling services for the University's Midtown Campus (181 White St., Danbury, CT) and Westside Campus (43 Lake Ave. Extension, Danbury, CT 06810). It is the purpose of this RFP to obtain complete data from each bidder to enable the University to determine which bidder is best able to serve all of the criteria that are to be considered in the award of this contract. Currently, the University retains the services of Oak Ridge Trash Removal of Danbury, CT as its provider for waste removal services. The current award, which commenced in July of 2015, concludes in June of 2022. The following information details aspects of this current award. (203) 837-8657 e-mail: lopez@wcsu.edu Consists of uncoated, printed or unprinted sheets, shavings, and cuttings of white groundwood free ledger, bond, writing, and other papers that have similar fiber and fiber content This material is provided loose in bulk containers. Defined as unwanted or discarded solid, liquid, semisolid or contained gaseous material from residential, commercial and industrial sources, excluding solid waste consisting of significant quantities of hazardous waste, land-clearing debris, demolition debris, biomedical waste, sewage sludge and scrap metal. Construction Debris is defined as including but not limited to waste building materials and packaging resulting from construction, remodeling, repair and demolition operations on houses, commercial buildings and other structures, excluding asbestos, clean fill, or solid waste containing greater than de minimis quantities, of (A) radioactive material (B) hazardous waste and (C) liquid and semi-liquid materials, including, but not limited to, adhesives, paints, coatings, sealants, preservatives, strippers, cleaning agents, oils and tars. Bulky Waste is defined as land clearing debris and waste resulting directly from demolition activities other than clean fill. The University reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or any part thereof, or to accept any proposal, or any part thereof, or to withhold the award and to waive or decline to waive irregularities in any proposal when it determines that it is in its best interest to do so. The University also reserves the right to hold all proposals for a period of 60 days after the opening date and the right to accept a proposal not withdrawn before the scheduled opening date.
