ADVERTISEMENT BOROUGH OF SADDLE RIVER BERGEN COUNTY, NEW JERSEY Sealed Bids will be received by the Borough of Saddle River at the Office of the Administrator, 100 East Allendale Road, Saddle River, NJ 07458 on March 18, 2022 11:00 A.M., Local Time, at which place and time Proposals will be publicly opened and read for: BISHOP HOUSE EXTERIOR PATIO IMPROVEMENTS The Bishop House is located at 176 E. Saddle River Road Block 1402 Lot 32 and is adjacent to the Public Safety Complex. This Contract consists of the following representative work; Construct a raised hardscape patio at the exterior of the Bishop House, approximately 380 SF with steps and a rail. The raised patio elevation is approximately 24" from existing grade and will extend off the East side of the dwelling where new double doors have been installed. There is select removals as part of the overall scope of work. This work consists only of the exterior patio and no other (building or interior work is made part of the project). The work is anticipated to be started and completed in Spring 2022. Contract Documents and Proposal Forms (hereinafter the "Bid Package) may be obtained after March 7, 2022 at the Borough Engineer's office, Spence Engineering, 86 E. Allendale Road, Saddle River, NJ between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Payment of $25.00 will be required for each full set of Contract Documents taken which represents copy and print charges, none of which shall be refunded. Checks shall be made payable to Spence Engineering. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Certified or Cashier's Check or Bid Bond to the order of the Borough of Saddle River, N.J. in the amount equal to 10 percent of the amount bid for road construction, not to exceed $20,000.00. Each Bid must also be accompanied by an agreement to become Surety properly executed by an approved surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey with underwriting capacity in the State of New Jersey at least equal to 100% of the amount the Bid. Further, the Surety must not be disbarred for any reason. The prescribed Agreement of Surety form must be duly executed by the Surety, and attached to the Proposal with the requisite corporate seals and/or powers of attorney. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Bonds for the faithful performance of the Contract, and to secure the payment of all claims for services performed and materials and equipment furnished. The prescribed Forms for such Bonds are contained in the Bid Package and must be used. No substitute forms of bonds will be accepted. Each Bond must be in the amount of not less than 100 percent of the Total Price Bid for the completed Work and similarly must be issued by Sureties authorized to business in the State of New Jersey with sufficient underwriting capacity in the State of New Jersey (as defined above) and good and current standing. In the case of a Bidder, which is a corporation, not incorporated in the State of New Jersey, the Bid must be accompanied by a proper certificate demonstrating that such corporation is currently authorized to do business in New Jersey. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a New Jersey Statutory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the Contract sum, and a Maintenance Bond in the amount of 10 percent of the Contract sum. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. Bidders should contact the Borough Engineer's Office (201) 934-0300 with any questions. Work under this contract shall be performed in compliance with Chapter 127 PL 1975 regarding non-discrimination and Chapter 33 PL 1977 regarding disclosure of ownership. The Borough of Saddle River reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any defects or informalities in the Bids received, and to accept any Bid which is deemed most favorable to the Borough of Saddle River.
