Site work for a water / sewer project in Acadia Valley, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Construction of Municipal Cell 6, Industrial Cell 6 (West Half), construction of a Clay Cap in the "up to grade" areas of the Industrial and Municipal Landfill Cell Areas, construction of a clay lined Hydrovac Pad Facility, and South Berm upgrading. The proposed work is located North-West of Brooks, Alberta, in the SE1/4 -34-19-15-W4M in the County of Newell. The project generally consists of the following: Construction of Municipal Solid Waste Cell No. 6 including a 1.2m clay liner on the bottom of the cell and the south berm of the excavation. Construction includes a leachate collection system, made up with a geotextile cover over top of the clay liner and tire shred drainage layer, a trenched leachate collection pipe system complete with manhole access and a pump out sump area. Estimated quantities include the following: Excavation Quantity - 243,450 cubic meters, Clay Liner Construction - 26,500 cubic meters To Stockpile - 216,950 cubic meters 150mm Perforated Pipe - 200 m Non-woven Geotextile 6 oz (LP6) - 700 sq m Manhole Section - 3 manholes, barrel length, 19m, 38.5m and 40.0m 450mm Solid Pipe (South Manhole Pump-out) - 26 m Non-woven Geotextile 4 oz (LP4) - 54,000 sq m (27,000 sq m for top and bottom of TDA) Tire Shred (TDA) volume with 50% Compression Allowance - 36,200 cu m Construction of West Half of Industrial Waste Cell No. 6 including a 1.2m clay liner on the bottom of the cell and the south berm of the excavation. Construction includes a leachate collection system, made up with a geotextile Estimated quantities include the following: Excavation Quantity - 131,900cubic meters, Clay Liner Construction - 16,000 cubic meters To Stockpile - 115,900 cubic meters Non-woven Geotextile 4 oz (LP4)- 24,500 sq m (12,500 sq m for top and bottom of TDA) Tire Shred (TDA) volume with 50% Compression Allowance - 24,500 cu m Construction of Clay Caps I Areas 1 and 2 of the Landfill. Construction includes shaping and pre- conditioning the compacted waste layer to meet the design of "Top of Waste" contours in the designated work area. When top of waste conditions have been verified, place a 1.2 m compacted clay liner over top of the top of waste. Borrow material for the clay liner construction is to come from excavations activities of the Municipal Cell 6 or/and Industrial Cell 6. Place a 150mm topsoil cover over top of the completed clay cap liner and complete with seeding the finished cap areas. Estimated quantities include the following: Clay Liner Cap - Area 1 - 9,000 to 15,000 +/- cubic meters Clay Liner Cap - Area 2 - 24,000 to 30,000 +/- cubic meters Other Clay Liner Cap Areas may be identified during construction Seeding - Area 1 and 2- 27,500 +/- square meters Construction of the Hydrovac Pad Facility. Construction of the hydrovac pad facility includes construction of a compacted berm area, a compacted clay pad, complete with a liquid storage pond, concrete slab at the entrance and a gated retaining wall structure upstream of the pond area. Estimated quantities include the following: Excavation Pad and Pond - 3900 cubic meters Berm and Liner Construction - 2800 cubic meters Concrete - 50 cubic meters, Reinforcing Steel - Concrete Slab - 1180 meters Reinforcing Steel - Concrete Wall - 690 meters 250mm Control Gates - 2 Rip-Rap Up-grading of the South Berm. Up-grading of the South Berm, includes raising the berm to Elevation 772 or as shown on the drawing, capping the south face of the berm, constructing the drainage works at the north face of the berm, installing CSP culverts. Construction of Haul Road between Existing and New Soil Stockpiles. Construction of Haul Road and installation of Road Culvert.
