The Works to be performed under the Contract consists of the installation of Phase 1 final cover system, surface water management ditches, landfill gas header piping, and associated work. The Works includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Project startup including development of site staging and equipment storage plan and mobilization to the Site. 2. Development, implementation, and maintenance of a Site specific Health and Safety Plan in accordance with WorkSafeBC requirements. 3. Provisioning and maintenance of temporary facilities and controls. 4. Site preparation works including stripping organic layer, surface preparation, and implementation of erosion and sediment controls. 5. Grading of subgrade (top of waste/interim cover) to maximum of 3H:1V slope and smooth transitions. 6. Installation of geotextile cushion over interim cover / waste. 7. Installation of geomembrane over geotextile cushion. 8. Installation of geocomposite drainage layer over geomembrane including boots for Landfill gas wellheads and valve chamber. 9. Installation of common fill as protective cover soil over geocomposite. 10. Optional Final Cover Alternative: installation of low permeability soil instead to replace geotextile cushion, geomembrane, geocomposite drainage layer, and cover soil 11. Installation of toe drain and outlet piping. 12. Installation of header piping and infiltration sink and pressure testing. 13. Construction of perimeter toe ditches and mid-slope perimeter ditch for the Phase 1 final cover system. 14. Installation of topsoil and hydroseeding of final cover and ditch areas. 15. Provisional Item: construction of west ditch connector for promoting positive drainage from the existing west landfill perimeter ditch to west operations ditch including installation of 600 mm culvert at road crossing. 16. Installation of litter control fencing and placement of concrete blocks on the landfill access road. 17. Establishment of vegetation on final cover and in ditches, swales and disturbed areas for final restoration. 18. Demobilization and closeout.
