The project consists of installation of 1 ton rock rip-rap slope protection keyed into the bank a minimum 3 feet below and 3 feet above the adjacent flow line. All work will take place on existing bank and will conform at the existing toe of bank. The upper portion of the bank will have a biodegradable coconut fiber fabric installed with hollow sprigs spaced at 3'-4' on center and extending into the rip-rap. Throughout the project length. A temporary irrigation system will be installed and maintained until plantings have been established he project will use bioengineering techniques to restore an approximate ten (10) foot section of eroding creek bank along Copeland Creek to protect existing sewer and storm drain infrastructure located a few feet from the top of the eroding bank. The erosion occurs in the bank from the flow line of the creek to the top of bank and varies in depth up to approximately three (3) feet. The proposed bioengineering techniques will incorporate one (1) ton toe boulders keyed three (3) feet into the flow line of the creek and rise three (3) feet above the flow line to a point where native soil will be restored to match the existing bank grades that extend to the top of bank. The native soils will be covered with a biodegradable coconut fiber mesh and willow sprigging will be installed within the native soils.
