Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Union, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
**As of May 3, 2022, Project has been awarded. Award amount is $2,748,649.10** The Project consists of roadway improvements to the following roads (7 of which are alternates): Rose Terrace, Julian Terrace, Bradford Terrace, Lindy Terrace, Mulford Terrace, Day Terrace, Martha Avenue, Mary Avenue, Emily Avenue, Hawthorne Avenue, Linn Avenue, Leslie Street, Jackson Avenue, Andover Road, Andrea Road and Academy Road. The improvements also consist of the installation of drainage system improvements, curb, sidewalk improvements, driveway repairs, inlet upgrades with bicycle safe grates and type 'N' Eco curb pieces. Work on these roads cannot be started until September 1, 2022. Contract documents and drawings for the proposed work (the "Contract Documents", which have been prepared by Joseph R. Venezia, P.E., of the firm Colliers Engineering & Design Inc. (DBA Maser Consulting), will be on file at the below date in the Township of Union, Municipal Building, 1976 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. The award of the Contract for this project will not be made until the necessary funds have been provided by the Owner in a lawful manner. The Contract governing the work is funded by monies received by Union County under Title I of the Housing and Urban - Rural Recovery Act of 1983 (P.L. 98-181). Under the said Act the Davis Bacon Act is applicable to the contracted work. Accordingly, the contractor must abide by the provisions of the Federal Labor Standards which are included as a part of the conditions of the contract. Proposals for this contract will only be accepted from bidders who have properly qualified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The right is also reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the Owner, except as to those items which are deemed mandatory and non-waivable set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.2. Further, the Owner reserves the right to abandon the project and reject the bids entirely if any legal or state or federal administrative action is taken against the Owner which could delay or jeopardize the project from commencing. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The successful bidder shall be required to comply with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, which include but are not limited to the affirmative action requirements of P.L. 1975, c. 127, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. Bidders will be required to comply with the public disclosure provisions of N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2.
