Renovation of a medical facility in Victoria, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
This project's premise is to replace end of life medical radiography equipment. The main scope of work is to renovate (1) X-Ray room at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, providing necessary upgrades to accommodate the installation of the new equipment. Radiography equipment will be purchased by Island Health. Demolition work will include removal of existing radiography equipment, millwork, partial lead and non-lead lined walls, ceilings and removal of non-containing sheet floor Construction work may include installation of a new structural ceiling support system for the overhead equipment, potential upgrade to the lead shielding in the existing walls, flooring, walls, doors, ceilings, and millwork and to coordinate install of the new X-ray machine (Siemens). Additional scopes of work will include the addition of a patient lift system, and upgrade to existing plumbing and lighting components, pending confirmation of available budget. This project may require an upgrade the base building electrical system, which will require after-hours work to accommodate. Minimal shut-down of the radiography room is critical. This is one of only three radiography rooms at this hospital, careful scheduling and planning must be taken into account to adhere to the completion date once set.
